Shaykh Muhammad Akram Nadwi (may Allah preserve him) writes in the preface to his [Arabic] translation of Imam Shah ‘Abd al-‘Aziz Al-Dehlawi’s (may Allah have mercy on him) Bustan al-Muhadditheen:

It is also necessary that I thank our friend, the excellent Shaykh Muhammad Deedat, the director of the [Library] Department of Dar al-‘Ulum at Holcombe Hall, Bury[1], may Allah preserve him, who helped me greatly in learning his treasures of knowledge. The fact is that I did not see any equal to him among the young scholars or even like him in awareness of the published and manuscript sources of the sunnah and eagerness to acquire them. May Allah bless him and repay him well.

[1] One of the most important Arabic Islamic centres in England. It is occupied with disseminating the sciences of the Qur’an, Sunnah and fiqh, and training and educating scholars in this land. It is managed by Shaykh Yusuf Motala, may Allah preserve him.
